Octavius Lamb, a seemingly respectable member of the Oxford community, is murdered and nobody can think why. Detective Inspector Jamieson is called in to investigate and starts to question everyone who knew him, from his wife and son to his business associates. And as he delves into the case, not only do people seem to be reluctant to open up to him, he learns that there may of been more to the victim and his life than was previously imagined...
