A six-episode dramatisation of Henry VIII's relationships with each of his six wives. Each episode, with a different writer, is devoted to one wife, and is a complete play in itself. Keith Michell stars as Henry, with Annette Crosbie, Dorothy Tutin, Anne Stallybrass, Elvi Hale, Angela Pleasence, and Rosalie Crutchley as the wives. Wolfe Morris, Patrick Troughton, Bernard Hepton, and Anthony Quayle co-star. Included is Henry VIII and His Six Wives , a 1972 film adapted from the miniseries, with Michell reprising his role but with different actresses for the wives.
