Frustrated by the way art is going and their attempts to make it as artists among the established order of the Royal Academy, a group of friends decide to form the pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood movement to shake up the old order. But as they attempt to make a name for themselves many of the group would suffer hardship, poverty, alcoholism and drug addiction in their bid to do so, plus scandalous love affairs that would shock society...
