The House of (1923)
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, along with other pictures of the era that I find interesting, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. This French film-serial was actually written and directed by Russian-born Alexandre Volkoff and was a critical and financial success upon release. It is a mystery series in which a man is betrayed by his friend and sent to prison for a murder he did not commit. While in prison, his betrayer makes moves to steal his wife as well.
