The Buick Berle Show (1953)
Jack Webb (In character as Sgt. Friday) travels to Times Square encountering surprised guest Sid Caeser who is convinced that Milton Berle is stealing his jokes. Friday spends the rest of the show grilling Berle, the writers, & even Uncle Milton's own mother trying to catch the "joke stealer." This full-blown Dragnet satire features a mock trial, lavish song & dance numbers (staged by Herbert Ross) &was performed live before a wildly enthusiastic audience. I pulled this off "The Ultimate Dragnet" DVD, the editing was done by the manufacturer.
