VHS Tape: The Wild Party (1975) Plot: Based on the 1926 narrative poem Joseph Moncure March (1899-1977), mixed with elements of the infamous Fatty Arbuckle scandal. The Wild Party is a strange outlier from the celebrated team of Merchant/Ivory (At least if you compare it to their later more well-known dramas Howard's End and The Remains of The Day .) Just the fact that they were making the movie for a studio (American International) previously known for producing the family-friendly "Beach Party" classics with Frankie and Annette was strange enough.
