Mexico. Directed by Raphael Baledon (spelled Rafael Baledón on the Internet Movie Database). Starring Gaston Santos as Gaston and Manola Saavedra as Julie. This is the English-language version dubbed and distributed in the US by K. Gordon Murray. I've taken this from an '80s rental videotape distributed in the US by Genesis Home Video (it's one generation removed from the source). The miserable picture quality is not a result of repeated redubbing, as one might think, but how the original Genesis tape looked.
