Resident Evil is an upcoming horror film directed by Zach Cregger and written by Cregger and Shay Hatten. It is the second reboot of the Resident Evil film series, based on Capcom's Resident Evil video game franchise. The film—set during events paralleling the game Resident Evil 2 (1998), albeit in a modern era—follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who must fight through a viral outbreak of infected monsters in Raccoon City during a delivery. Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, Johnno Wilson and Paul Walter Hauser feature in supporting roles.
