El "trío de oro" del cine español de la Transición , compuesto por Andrés Pajares , Fernando Esteso y el director Mariano Ozores , definió una era de humor popular y taquillero entre 1979 y 1984. Juntos rodaron un total de nueve películas que se convirtieron en fenómenos sociológicos. Andrés Pajares y Fernando Esteso formaron uno de los dúos cómicos más icónicos y rentables del cine español durante la época del destape, protagonizando 9 películas de comedia dirigidas por Mariano Ozores entre 1979 y 1983.
