Lost in Space is a 1998 American science fiction action-adventure film directed by Stephen Hopkins, and starring Gary Oldman, William Hurt, Matt LeBlanc, Mimi Rogers, Heather Graham, Lacey Chabert in her first feature film appearance, Jack Johnson, and Jared Harris. The plot is adapted from the 1965–1968 CBS television series of the same name, which was loosely based on the 1812 novel by Johann David Wyss (and similarly named movies), The Swiss Family Robinson. Several actors from the television show make cameo appearances.
