Com Maria Fernanda e Walmor Chagas Drama com sequências documentais realizado para a TV (como piloto da malograda série “Gesto histórico”) e baseado na história real da madre Joana Angélica, heroína-mártir da luta pela independência na Bahia. Ao tentar impedir que um grupo de soldados leais aos portugueses invadisse o seu convento, Joana Angélica acabou sendo morta por um golpe de baioneta, em 1822. O filme discute alguns aspectos do mito de Joana Angélica e reconstitui duas versões da sua morte (como simpatizante do movimento revolucionário e como simples defensora do seu convento).
