Large-scale attempt to tell the history of the German people as the history of the German forest in the sense of the "blood and soil" ideology of the National Socialists, produced on behalf of the NS cultural community, premiered on the "Day of People's Growth" of their Reichstag. In a mixture of documentary and play scenes, the film spans its story from the Bronze Age to the present day. In the end, after the defeat in the World War, the German forest is cleared by enemies and rebuilt as a flag forest of swastika banners.
