Discontent (1916)
Discontent is a short silent drama film written and directed by Lois Weber. Old Man Pearson is an elderly veteran living in a soldiers’ home. His chronic dissatisfaction disrupts veterans’ home and he decides to move in with his wealthy uncle. By the end he realizes that his own restlessness, not his surroundings, is the true source of his unhappiness. Florence Lois Weber (June 13, 1879 – November 13, 1939) was an American silent film director, screenwriter, producer and actress.
