EGGSHELLS (1971) by Willard Tobe Hooper The first feature-length motion picture to be shot in Austin by local Texas filmmakers. Filming dates: spring/summer 1970 to early-to-mid 1971, when the film was released in Austin and some select theaters nationwide, particularly in larger cities with college campuses such as the University of Texas in Austin, which would have featured a similar college drug counterculture and a comparable "hippie" youth arts, film and music scene. This was a "HEAD" movie, according to Tobe Hooper.
