Alice Howell still

Alice Howell was one of the best female clowns of the silent movie era. She was a forerunner to many of the female stars (movie and television) that came after her. She was sometimes billed as 'The Female Charlie Chaplin" and she starred with Chaplin in several movies. Howell has more than 100 screen credits, but has since been largely forgotten today. Here are a collection of short films from Howell's peak of popularity.
